Global Narratives – Booking & Payment Policy

At Global Narratives, we believe booking a trip should feel clear, fair, and stress-free. Our booking policy is designed to balance flexibility for travelers with the real logistics required to operate trips responsibly on the ground.

Please read the details below so you know exactly how deposits, payments, and cancellations work.

Booking & Deposit

To reserve your spot on a Global Narratives trip, a flat $750 deposit (this may be different for trips before Feb 1, 2026) is required at the time of booking.

This deposit allows us to immediately begin arranging key elements of your experience, including:

  • Hotels and accommodations

  • Transportation and drivers

  • Local guides

  • Permits and advance logistics

Your spot is officially confirmed once the deposit is received.

Cancellation Policy

​Your main payment, less the deposit, is always refundable up until the trip begins. We do this intentionally to provide you with comfort and flexibility if your plans change.

Your deposit is...

  • 100% refundable within 48 hours of booking

  • 50% refundable if canceled more than 30 days before the trip start date

  • Non-refundable if canceled within 30 days of the trip

We encourage travelers to book only when they feel reasonably confident in their plans, as preparations begin shortly after confirmation.

Option A
Pay on Arrival

You may pay the remaining balance in cash upon arrival in Syria.

Many travelers prefer this option because:

  • It avoids international card fees

  • It allows payment in person after meeting the team

  • It feels more flexible for a destination like Syria

Option B
Pay Before Arrival

If you prefer to complete payment in advance, you may pay the remaining balance up to 30 days before arrival.

A secure payment link will be provided, supporting major credit cards and transfer options, but please note that 0.5-4% fees may be associated depending on your method of payment.

There is no requirement to prepay the balance unless you personally prefer to do so.

If Global Narratives Must Cancel

In the unlikely event that Global Narratives must cancel your trip due to safety concerns, site closures, or unforeseen local circumstances, you will receive a 100% full refund of all payments made, including the deposit. This is a determination that will

be made by our partners at SyrianGuides or by the Syrian Government.
